There are precious things that are linked from the past and can’t be disposed of because of sentimental value. But these valuable things are left scattered everywhere in the house occupying valuable space. More space will be saved if these things were organized in transparent plastic containers. Assort, itemize and label them accordingly. Put silica gel or any mist absorber with it then place the containers in a well-ventilated room to protect them from humidity. These things will remain protected and preserved while stored. 
You will feel satisfied from this endeavor because not only you can save space but also you can save your much loved possessions.
